Finding property for airbnb

Finding property for airbnb

Hello,

myself Jeevan and I am new to airbnb. I have been a turo host for little over 2 years now with a fleet of 15 cars. I have an LLC setup and hunting for my first property to list on airbnb. Could anyone here please assist me how to find one for rental arbitrage? I am open to any city/state in the US. All I am looking for is to arbitrage than buying a property. While my priority is to arbitrage a airbnb property that is already active and running, I am also open to talk to landlord and turn the property into airbnb. Thanks in advance!

@Yamuna6  Congrats on your success with Turo, tha'ts amazing!

I would start by going to Youtube as there is a lot of Airbnb arbitrage information on there.  Specifically look up Sean Rakidzich.  He is very big in the arbitrage space and offers tons of free content.  He also has paid courses.  Search out Facebook for some groups, one that is popular is named Airbnb Mastery.  I am sure there are others if you search Airbnb Arbitrage in the  FB search.

Just a note.. Arbitrage used to be very popular and also quite lucrative.  However,  the landscape has changed quite a bit over the last several years.  Rents are a lot higher in most markets  and revenue is being compressed in Airbnb in many areas due to over saturation, governmental interference, bans etc.  You will need to do your homework to make sure where you decide to operate, it's legal as well as going to be worth  your time and headache.

There is nothing passive about operating a short term rental whether you own it or rent it, lots of moving parts.  I take it from your success with Turo, you likely have what it takes. Best of luck to you 😁

Hi @Yamuna6  😊,

Thank you for asking these questions here!

Are you currently living in the US?

I’m tagging a few hosts from the US to see what advice they might have for you: @Karen114@Nash-Cottages-LLC0@Rose422@Marie8425 and @Lorina14

Thank you in advance everyone!

Hi Elisa,

thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. Yes, I live in Ohio. Thank you for tagging hosts. Hope I get some good response from them to start with. Also, I was browsing airbnb website and found airbnb-friendly apartments. Although it was straight-forward and self-explanatory, I just want to make sure what I am understanding is right. Are those properties set-up and ready-to-go? Is it as simple as signing up the lease and making a listing of my own under my account and start earning?

Hi @Yamuna6 😊

I’m glad to see so many interesting replies from our hosts.

What do you think of them? Do you need any more help with your question?

Don’t hesitate to let me know!

Warm regards 🌻,

@Yamuna6

Sorry that translates to I don't know Airbnb so can I be the Host for your good Airbnb listing and if I succeed I will buy if I fail you take it back broken.

Not exactly a promising idea for am Airbnb Host that has worked hard.

I would suggest maybe reconsider your starting point.

Can you rent a bedroom or something you have available?

Maybe if you really want to follow your idea, maybe you identify a possible listing.  Approach the Host with an attractive CoHost option.  That allows you to trial being an Airbnb Host for the property of interest but gives the current Host protections that a stranger has some deciding factors about their business.
