Florida Vacation rental license

Hi everyone, I’m new to Airbnb and I’m starting with the arbitrage model. I have a landlord in west palm beach whose agreed to rent to me. 

I knew there would be an application process but I didn’t realize getting a vacation rental license would be so time consuming. 

according the the dbpr, getting licenses approved are backed up and said it would definitely take longer than a month. 

I’d love any feedback from someone who’s gotten their vacation rental license in Florida. How long was the process? What did you do while waiting for it to be approved? What did you have to do once approved? 

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
