Dear Airbnb Support Team,
We have been dedicated Airbnb hosts for many years, consistently maintaining Superhost status with numerous positive reviews. However, despite our long-standing commitment to providing great guest experiences, we have repeatedly encountered serious issues with fraudulent bookings, scams, and stolen identities.
Unfortunately, Airbnb's current verification process is not thorough enough, allowing individuals to create fake accounts or use stolen identities and credit cards to book stays. This has led to multiple incidents where we’ve been robbed or scammed, forcing us to spend sleepless nights handling emergencies, changing locks in the middle of the night, and even involving law enforcement—all of which severely impact our ability to run a reliable business.
We strongly urge Airbnb to implement stricter verification measures, such as multi-step identity verification, requiring guests to match their ID with their face upon check-in, or providing hosts the option to enforce such security checks. A more secure system is crucial to ensuring the safety of both hosts and legitimate guests.
We hope this matter is taken seriously and escalated to your higher management team. Running a business under these conditions is exhausting, and we truly need Airbnb’s support in making the platform safer for hosts.
Thank you for your time and attention. We look forward to hearing about any steps being taken to improve guest verification and prevent future incidents.
Best regards,
Said
