hi, when trying to book a reservation and I key in my payment info and key in my cell number, I get a message that says this phone number is in use, try another number. What is this, how do I correct it? What is best phone no to call AirBnb, or does someone else here know what is happening?
I was thinking about listing my one property with Airbnb but this simple issue that is happening to me as a consumer wanting to book an Airbnb Host's property is annoying. Any help on this is appreciated, as the Host herself doesn't understand why this issue is happening.
thank you, Sandy

Hi Sandy,
The issue likely arises because the phone number you entered is already linked to another Airbnb account, which can happen with recycled numbers. Contact Airbnb support to have the number unlinked and reassigned to your account. You can reach them at 1-855-424-7262 or via the Help Center.
If urgent, use a temporary number to complete your reservation and update it later. This issue is account-specific and not reflective of the overall platform experience.
I hope this helps.
