Has anyone or is anyone doing destination weddings at their airbnb site?
I live in a very small community with an extremely picturesque 100 year old church. My home is just around the corner and I have a beautiful yard for social gatherings.
I have friends who do photography, hair, nails, make-up and even catering and wedding cakes. I am thinking about doing small destination weddings and receptions here in my community (Maximum of 30 people) and was wondering if anyone in the Airbnb community would be interested in expanding on this idea.
I am also interested in seeing if airbnb would be interested in creating a special group for couples to research ideas for planning their own destination weddings.
Not sure AirBnB would be the obvious platform, I have seen a few posts from people who do it, my question would be would people looking for wedding locations search on ABB?
I have similar plans for the future.

I have inquires all the time about weddings at our place in the White Mountains of Arizona. I just don't know what to charge. The weddings are small with about 100 people.
Something I am looking at, maybe next year, obviously a very different business, different price point, risks, contracts etc.
Rule of thumb, mutiply what ever you nightly rate is by at least 10.
Check around and see what the competition charges.
Nice idea - but given the bugs and lack of investment in the AirBnB platform I am not sure I would give them anything except a weekend booking (and I have been hosting for a year). There is a lack of direct customer and host contact, a dependency on other hosts to help sort out all problems from IT to difficult guests...so while a nice thought, I can;t see anyone in their right mind using AirBnB for wedding planning or logistics
I was actually just making a post, because I was told I could book a place to host my wedding and reception thru airbnb. i have yet to figure out how to search for hosts who want to rent to large parties. I think you're idea is great so long as you figure out how to make yourself known. I'm looking for a place in the carlsbad area for my wedding. hope we both find out more info!
Hi, I host a home in Scottsdale which I have been receiving some event inquiries for. A couple is interested in hosting their wedding, and we would love to do so. I am wondering if anyone can offer a new host some advice. I have just begun hosting Jan 2017.
I would also be interested in a group, if such exists, for hosts who have homes suitable for events. Thanks!

My fiance and I are looking to rent a place for the weekend where we can stay with few family/friends and also have our wedding party. The ideal place should have ocean or lake view and large backyard to host max 150 people anywhre in Palm Beach county Florida.
Dates: November 16-19
Wedding date: November 18
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

I have a condo on Jupiter Island and know the area well. I would advise you contact the Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce as well as a local realtor as they will give free advice and have loads of suitable places.
The Jupiter Inlet Colony has a lovely waterside beach club house with outdoor area for events - and no doubt several of the 150 homes in the exclusive Inlet area will be available through Airbnb which means you would be able to consider the facilities.
Best Wishes.
@Bev0 & Rod I'm toying with the exact same concept. Pending permits if necessary I would love to host a wedding, or at the least a great reception. Glad to hear you're doing it too! Would love more input about cost change for venue use, preparation, security deposits, etc...

I was recently engaged and I am very familiar with booking airbnb stays for my business travels. Nevertheless, I too am very very interested in hosting my wedding in an airbnb home (Wedding date of 07/2019). Idealy a large beautiful home with a nice huge natural like setting that could accomidate 150 or so people for both the ceremony and reception. I have been seaching in Bloomfield Hills, Mi and the surrounding areas. I thought this would be ideal for my family as well! To have an entire home that I could host the ceremony, reception, and provide lodging for my bridal party would be great! ...similar to the concept of booking at a hotel but with a more scenic/natural setting. Unfortunetly, like most of you mentioned I have been having a hard time finding individuals open to hosting such events in there home.
It would be awesome to have the option/ availability to seach for this!
If anyone has any suggestion, dont hesitate to let me know.
Thanks,
Alexandra
AirBnB as currently configured is not set up for this, would need a lot of changes, different contractual terms etc.
I think it’s a very feasible concept. I have done event planning in the past, specifically weddings. We have 1/2 of our beach house renting on Airbnb now. We just started in April- hosting. It could easily become a full time job. I have also entertained the idea of listing the whole house, with the master bedroom as a honeymoon suite & then coordinating ceremony’s on the beach. I’m sure people must already be offering these types of destination weddings already, so I’m almost positive if Airbnb, or we created a category of such, that it would be met with success. I may think of partnering with an already established wedding planner locally, for number of reasons. - keep in touch! - annastacia
@Annastacia0 Put in an Experience propsal to AirBnB. They are starting a new Wedding collection. Though I have not heard back from them, they oblivously have started working on it since it's now listed on my listing with the New Transaction History for payouts. Nice of them to let me know it was approved lol, I found it by accident.
