Hi! I’m Anne-Marie. A Canadian living in Paris for 13 years now. Came here for a year and decided to keep staying. I’m trying to figure the maze of French bureaucracy to be a host to a new apartment i have. Any suggestions are very welcomed!

Hello @Anne-Marie524
With the introduction of the Loi Le Meur in November 2024, it has become even more difficult to rent a secondary home as a short term let in France and especially Paris!
Is there anything specific you need help with? If you want a general overview of what is now required, read the link below:
https://www.jedeclaremonmeuble.com/reglementation-des-locations-saisonnieres/
==>Presumably you have applied for a SIRET number?
==>For Paris you need to ask for a registration number with your local town hall and a "changement d'usage" coupled with the requirement to convert a commercial building into a long term let? This number has to be added to your listing and shows up under your profil.
==>Any new properties put on the market as of 2025, need to have a DPE certificate with a minimum of an E grade?

Hope this is useful,

Hi
thank you for your response.
I am a freelancer so I have a siret number.
If I understand correctly, I need to declare mg secondary residence as a commercial place (an office for me in my case), and then I can ask for authorisation to rent it out as a meublé touristique. Is that right?
I have already gone ahead and received the registration number.
Hello @Anne-Marie524
To be certain, I would contact my town hall to know exactly what they require if you haven't found the information in the two links as the fines are high if we don't have the necessary paperwork or made the necessary applications before renting as a "meublé touristique"
You have a SIRET for your profession but does it extend to a STR activity? Need to check this point I think.
