Hello, I am a new host in Amman Jordan, wondering if any hosts in Amman can help me about some questions, do we need to have a license or a permission in Amman to rent an apartment in Airbnb? And how do we grantee security and safety if the renter was misusing the apartment? Any tips ?

Welcome @Tee489!
On Airbnb, you're a host welcoming guests, not a landlord renting to tenants. As long as you keep it that way, you generally don’t need to worry about licenses or permissions in Jordan. Just make sure you’re hosting short-term stays and not long-term rentals—otherwise, you might find yourself caught in a legal whirlpool you didn’t sign up for.
As for safety and security, Airbnb provides AirCover and a two-way review system, but that alone isn’t always enough. Always review the guest’s profile, booking history, and previous reviews. Most importantly, communicate. Reach out, ask questions, and try to get a feel for the person. A short conversation can reveal a lot.
And if anything doesn’t feel right—just say sorry, and decline the booking. Your comfort and safety come first.

Hello @Tee489 ,
I suggest seeking legal advice from a lawyer with experience in short term rentals who can also help you obtain the necessary registration if needed.
You can also search local Facebook groups and ask there.
I was actually surprised that there are no local host groups in Jordan. Local host groups are Facebook communities created by hosts and supported by Airbnb. I wish you much success and maybe you will be the first to start one in Jordan.
In addition, you should speak with an accountant who can advise you on how to register the activity. There may even be tax benefits. Maybe not, but you definitely need that information too. Try to find someone with experience in short term rentals if possible.
Also check the website of your local municipality. You might find useful information there as well.
You should have insurance. Ask a local insurance company, and try to find one that knows about short term rentals. Sometimes there are special insurance plans for this kind of rental, and the municipality might not accept a different type.
I hope this helps,
