House insurance

We have a separate dwelling (cabin) on our property ; it’s on the same title deeds as our home.

I am really struggling to find home insurance for our home now as they seem to refuse short term rental platforms .

can anyone please recommend an insurer ?

@Allison663 we have a similar situation where we have a main residence and a cottage Aibnb on the same house block at Huskisson NSW.

We are currently have 2 insurances for each one.

We have Defense Service Homes as husband is a Returned Serviceman.

They cover us with a B&B for the Airbnb 

Some Hosts on the Australia Airbnb FB page recommend an Insurance Broker. You could look up someone near Jamberoo.

You can pay per night or 6-12 months 

I have just filled out for a quote for our cottage 

For 2 nights 4 people is $11.53

 For 

2 nights 2 people is 11.16

If we were doing this for a few months I would probably do it this way as you can claim it back on tax
