How to have Airbnb if you live out of state?

We  are looking into doing an Airbnb in Oregon, but live out of state.  What are the regulations on hosting if you don’t live there? Does someone just have to live on site to “host”, do you have to get mail there, or is there a permit required or something else?

@Lexi775  Str regulations are usually local- not statewide. So you'd have to research the regs in the area you want to buy.

But tons of hosts have properties hundreds or thousands of miles from where they live.
