How to remove "New Host Promotion"

Does anybody know how to remove the new host promotion of 20%?

While creating my first listing, at some point I have selected to apply 20% disccount for guests in my first 2 or 3 bookings. How can I deactivate that discount? It does not appear in the discounts sections, so I cannot deactivate it. Thanks

Yes! You are right. I was 30 min looking in other places, like "Prices and discounts". Thanks!

@Nahuel26  Threads don't need to be closed just because your question was answered. It will be helpful to other hosts who may have the same question- that's why there is a search engine here.

You didn't accidentally turn on that discount- it is turned on by default for new listings, which most new hosts don't realize, and has to be turned off if you don't want it.

It's a good idea to go through all your settings to make sure they are what you want, because that isn't the only thing that may be on by default.

I am not happy that the NEW LISTING PROMOTION was automatically applied. I would not have listed it for that low of a price. My listing was the only one available in the city for those dates and I set a very fair price to begin with,  (with a low cleaning fee.)

@Julie4478  I'm not sure when Airbnb started that- I know it wasn't on when I started hosting in 2016. Now there are a lot of things that are turned on by default, like that 20% discount and Instant Book, which hosts have to turn off if they don't want them.

I can't stress enough that new hosts need to spend the time it takes to go through everything in their settings, clicking through to familiarize themselves with where to find everything. Airbnb loves to hide things behind 5 clicks instead of making it all easy to see at a glance. And even for experienced hosts, Airbnb changes the hosting interface on a regular basis, moving things around so we have to waste time trying to find out where they've now hidden them.

Agreed. I've used Airbnb for years, as a host and a traveler-this was a new property that had not been listed. I've always thought that the site was difficult to navigate, as a host. I spent hours adding this listing and I thought I had scoured the pages pretty well. Thank you for telling me about Instant-book too..I'll change that right away!

I appreciate this discussion here, as I just had a VERY frustrating experience with multiple service reps on this -- before discovering that the "option" was on the Calendar page!  NOT intuitively located!!  Where I, like others, it seems, went through every option in Settings around "Price and Discounts" and other Listing details.

The aggravating part for me was that MULTIPLE reps I spoke to were NOT able to point me to where the Opt-Out was hidden.  I was being sent a link to OPT IN and, I was being told why it "benefits" me -- even though I was specifically telling them I did not CHOOSE it and I would never choose it and, I called expressly to get guidance for disabling it!  I was even told that it was their policy to "offer" the discount automatically for all new listings -- and, to adjust my nightly rate to account for the additional cut!!

Finally, more than 1/2-hour of back-and-forth on the phone, I was guided to the Calendar page...!

Thanks, all, for posting about this!!  More Hosts need to know this.

Thanks.  I also have this issue for our new listing.  Somehow a new listing promotion of 20% discount has been activated.  Thanks for advice below but the proposed solution - to go into calendar and remove promotion under 'promotions' - does not seem available to me.  Any other ideas?!  Cheers.

Dear community,

We are trying to remove New Listing promotion too.

With your support we have clicked on the line in the calendar of our new listing, then got the price in the right margin, clicked on the price and there the promotion is listed. We thought we had cracked it but...

We still couldn't see how to turn the promotion off.

We can click  top down menu where we can click if a promotion is displayed or not but this doesn't seem to turn it off for the customer, it just means we don't see it on our calendar.

Really baffled so any help appreciated.

Thank you

Finally got there...

In our account we changed to "professional tools" then we could see a linear calendar with dots on for the period of the promotion.

On clicking the dots a box comes up describing the offer with an option to remove it. We highlighted all the days of the promotion, clicked "Remove offer" and it did finally remove.

Phew! A lot of hours has gone into this 😕 Hope his helps someone else 🙂

Thanks for your help & advice on this - I had booking after booking coming in at the discount rate. Removed it from the calendar listing too but it was still there until I changed to the pro tools option. I noticed that the blurb said it would be removed in 76 days unless cancelled by host: not exactly transparent, is it?! Thanks again.
