I can’t discuss this with airbnb...

Went through the extended cleaning protocol, took the pledge, but the only listing I wanted it for  doesn’t appear (the 3 I have that I’ve delisted do appear).  It has some vague message saying the listing doesn’t qualify at this time but it doesn’t say why it doesn’t qualify or what has to change in order for it to qualify.  I have tried calling multiple times now, hanging on for over 35 minutes with no way of knowing whether I’m still going to hang on for another hour or longer perhaps so I can’t discuss this with airbnb.  This Listing is a separate apartment.  It is attached to our home, but it’s completely separate and has it’s own entrance.  Would some of you perhaps take a glance at the listing and let me know what you think the ‘problem’ might be please.  I can’t bear the thought of another hanging on forever attempt....

@Cari3   from the FAQ

Private and shared room listings aren’t currently eligible to get the highlight—we’re working on ways to elevate private and shared room hosts who are committed to enhanced cleaning standards, so stay tuned for updates

Although your unit has a separate entrance, based on its description I think its current property type designation as Private Room is more accurate than "Entire Home" would be, especially given that the ventilation is so interconnected that you need a curfew on shower times.

Thanks Andrew, this is helpful.  However, the venting runs through our ceiling and out the house in a closed ducted system that doesn’t impact our air in any way.  It vibrates and makes a noise but that’s it’s only impact on our living.  In all other ways, this is an entirely separate apartment from our house.  It’s not a private room in a house, it’s half or our house, and an entirely separate apartment with 3 rooms, own cooking facilities etc.... There is nothing, not a single amenity (other than a backyard), shared about this unit other than common walls and it’s not as if these don’t go all the way up to the ceiling.

@Cari3 you have categorized your listing as "Private room in guest suite".  Why not "Entire guest suite"?

@Cari3 also, you have your queen bed listed as in a "common area" while it looks from the photos like it is actually in a bedroom?

Lol... thanks Lisa for picking up on that.....how did I manage to do that????  I know that I was puzzled to find that even though I'd checked there was 1 bed, it kept showing up in some summary that there were 0 beds.  So I recently saw an option to show that it's a queen bed, but didn't realise when I checked it that I was saying it was a common area which of course it isn't!

@Cari3  As long as you feel that a guest seeking the privacy and separation of an Entire Place property will be satisfied with your offering, you can change the "property type" field on the listing and hopefully clear the hurdle for the cleaning protocol.
