Hi All,Do you know if AirBNB charges GST, PST, City / tourism tax and on what part Room/cleaning/service fee etc? Although, A...
Just read on another hosting forum- Host had not been paid for 6 completed stays dating back months. Repeated contact with Airbnb went nowhere. She got in touch with the guests whose payments she had not received, they all contacted Airbnb demanding to know what had happened to their payments, as they had been made aware the host hadn't been paid, and she almost instantly received payouts for all of them!
That should make it abundantly clear that missing payouts have everything to do with Airbnb just hanging on to the money because they can, it has nothing to do with glitches or payout information. But if a guest accuses them of ripping them off, it's a totally different ballgame.
@Sarah977There are comments on Down Detector relating to all manner of issues to do with ABB, they change from day to day
Not only should hosts be getting in touch with guests whose payments they haven't received, they should also (where possible) be checking with guests who Airbnb claim to have refunded, to confirm that a) they have actually been refunded, and b) the amount they've been refunded (particularly with Extenuating Circumstances claims).
From what I've been seeing and hearing for quite some time now, there appears to be a worrying number of discrepancies popping up between amounts deducted from the host, and amounts received by the guest.
Also, a lot of reports circulating about guests paying for damages, but the host being under the impression that their claim had been denied.
All put down to "glitches" by CX, of course. Where, oh where, would Airbnb be without their beloved "glitches"?
'glitches'.
Rhymes with 'thievery.'
Airbnb has not paid me for a recent stay (about 350 USD). No action on their part. They said the guest did not pay AIrbnb. There is an issue that our agreement is with Airbnb, and not the guest. Airbnb pays us, not the guest. If Airbnb decides that they aren't confirming payment has been made before a guest checks in, then Airbnb bears the risk of that decision. They should still honor the host payment, and carry insurance for the nonpayment by guests.
Great post. I have read about this issue on multiple occasions. It hasn't happened to us yet but if It does I will absolutely use this tactic.
I am trying to find out if anyone else has had recent issues with payments from India? Airbnb has told me it's an issues with the banks there and affects ALL payments from India. Yet when I google it doesn't show anything. Am I being fobbed off??
Your listing is in the UK, is that correct? Who does it say on your bank statements that your payments are coming form? Citibank?
