Hi, My husband and I joined Airbnb as hosts last year and just loved the experience! It was fun to meet people from all over the world who came to stay in our cottage, and we had only positive experiences with being hosts! We love to travel ourselves, and enjoy our summers at our other cottage in the north of Sweden by the Baltic Sea, lovely summer weather and all the nature experiences the area offers! Happy to meet you all.
I do have a couple of questions where I need some advice:
1. We want to switch stay lengths (min/max) to a shorter stay length, will that impact the 2 confirmed bookings we already have that are much longer?
2. We provide towels and sheets, but for longer-stay guests, should we also provide changing the sheets for them every week? Or is it enough that they have sheets and towels to make the changes themselves? (the cottage has a washer and dryer as well). Just want to make sure we meet guests' expectations!
Look forward to your answers!
Hi @Sara10829
Changing your minimum or maximum stay only affects future bookings. For a new or relatively new host it may be good to take some shorter bookings. This allows you to get used to things and to get reviews on your profile.
For the two long bookings:
It may be fine to let the guests change the beds and towels themselves. Personally I don't like scheduling cleaning during a guest's stay, but when you take a long booking it's sometimes in your best interest to do a weekly cleaning (otherwise it can be a very big job on check-out day, especially if your next guest arrives soon). I usually avoid scheduling cleaning during stays by setting the maximum to a shorter period. Other hosts may feel differently, it depends on your situation and your preference.

We recommend sending the link to the two guest bookings and explain you would appreciate if they alter the reservation.⬇️

Otherwise communicate your requirements regarding trip length and make the agreed changes at your end as the host.

Hi,
We misread the question and would appreciate of we could have our reply deleted.

Hi @Sara10829 😊,
Thank you so much for asking this question in the community!
Did you have time to check our hosts' replies? Did they help you better understand?
We look forward to hearing from you!
Warm regards, 🌻

As @Shelley159 writes, changes in trip length only affects future bookings, and you should of course respect your current 2 listings, not try to change them (but I don’t think you were planning to, either 😀).
Also agree that shorter stays might be a better choice when you are fairly new hosts. I have been hosting since 2019, and still only do shorter stays. My min is 2 nights, max is 7 days, and the typical booking is 2-4 nights, sometimes 7. I don’t want them here longer! 😉 Mainly tourists who come to Stockholm for a mini-break, or stop here as part of a tour. Amazing guests!

When guests stay 5 nights +, I offer clean sheets, and they change sheets themselves. (There are always extra towels.) If I did longer stays, I would definitely want to be able to do a light cleaning now and then, to also be able to check on the place.
