Subject: Important: declare your status as a host

Hello,

In order to comply with European consumer and payments law, Airbnb is required to ask you to declare whether you host as a private individual or as a business on Airbnb and to verify your account details (Know-Your-Customer, KYC). You can declare your status and verify your account details by accessing Airbnb.com/account-details on either your desktop computer or mobile phone.

To learn more about our KYC process, you can visit this help center article: airbnb.com/help/article/3004

Determining your status as a host

To learn more about determining your status as a host you, can visit this help center article: https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1321

You’re typically an individual host if hosting on Airbnb isn’t your primary profession or source of income. You’re typically hosting as a business if hosting on Airbnb is your primary profession or source of income, or if you’re part of an established business, like a boutique hotel or property management company.

If you don’t declare your status within 5 days you will automatically be categorized as a private individual. Your status will be shown on your listing(s) to guests in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK and Switzerland. Please note that you can update your status at any time by accessing Airbnb.com/account-details if your circumstances change.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact us through the following link: airbnb.com/help/contact-us.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation to ensure a secure platform.

Sincerely,
Airbnb Support Team

Hello @Alan2001

The details contained in the mail you have received are part of the process that Airbnb require of their hosts to determine if they operate as an individual or as a professional host.

I would suggest logging into your Airbnb account in host mode and go to the account details to verify your status as a host is complete.

Those help articles exist and are legit and if you click on them they will redirect you to the correct place to check your details.

All the best
Joëlle
