No problem @Amy2212 , while we wait for other hosts to share their recommendations, I'd also suggest to ask in 👉Local Host Clubs👈 . You can find hosts from Florida there too.

Please keep us posted what you find there!

Hi @Amy2212 , which are some of the top options you’ve come across while doing your online research? Have you found any recommended or "best pick" lists?

I’m also inviting a few hosts to join this conversation in case they have suggestions or experiences to share regarding liability or homeowner’s insurance.

Hi @Daniel10090 @Dawn977 @Diane90 @Frank1116 @Grace1385 @Matthew1608 @Omar1481 @Alex12990 @Heidy14 @Amy3326 @Kwesi9 , do you have any recommendations for a go-to insurance provider? Thanks in advance!

@Amy2212  As you are probably finding insurance in Florida is outrageous 😑.  I am using Proper insurance which is specifically for short term rentals.    They are very expensive however very comprehenisve coverage, bed bugs, dog bites, off premises liability and  loss of income.  If you were impacted by Helene and Milton last year you will understand the loss of income.

In order to get the loss of income provision you need to carry a wind policy which is very expensive and that's what makes up 85% of the yearly premium.

I have heard good things about them in other industry groups as far as claims etc.  Fingers crossed I will not have to use them for a claim but feel better than I did last year at this time.

Karen

Thank you. I think I got a quote from them a year ago and it was over 20k! Gawd! I hope that's not what I'll need to pay! Eeeek!!!
