The city council is discussing licensing of STR like air BNBs. They want to charge $1000/year and do yearly inspections. Just wanting advice on how to proceed with them. Currently I am not registered or anything. I was told there was no regulation in place when I bought my home. Should I get a lawyer? What are my rights if there is no regulation in place?
It happened in bisbee. When I started 7 years ago license was $39, then $79, then strict regulations and a one time inspection (not annual yet), and $250 annual fee. If it passes you have to comply or shut down your STR.
