Local Rules for Airbnb

Hi All,

I am thinking of listing one room portion with bathroom and kitchen on Airbnb . The property is in Amritsar ( Ranjit Avenue) . I need help in setting up the policy/ rules that are required. Also need advice is it worth to open it at Ranjit Avenue Amritsar. What are things required for the same. Also looking for experienced co host.

Only you can decide whether a irs worth doing by carrying out market research on likely supply and demand and what you can charge out as a daily rate .

you then need a profit and loss account to work out likely profit.

• ID Collection is Mandatory
  As per Indian regulations, you must collect valid government IDs from all guests, both domestic and international. I always request these via Airbnb messages before check-in to stay compliant and ensure safety.
• Foreign Guest Reporting
  For foreign nationals, it is mandatory to inform your local police station or check post by filing the C-Form online. This is a legal requirement for all hosts in India to ensure proper guest documentation.
• Local Authorities Involvement
  It is always a good idea to be in touch with your local municipal council (Parshad) or community representatives. In case of emergencies or safety concerns, having those connections can help you get faster assistance or legal support.
• Location Potential (Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar)
  do check your building’s society rules or any restrictions on homestays to avoid issues later, feasibility check on your own.

Rules differ state wise. Nidhi portal has information regarding the requirements from - India Tourism perspective. However state government have their own licensing framework as well. You can check with your state requirements. Join the host club of your geography and these issues are always addressed there. Also you will get to know the supply/demand status of your locality.
