Hello @Mayur44

You have posted on the community forum for hosts and guests but as a fellow host, it is very much the hosts duty to check all the local laws related to short term rentals and also verify the tax implications.

All the best

Hello @Mayur44

As an established superhost in India with four listings in the location you are asking about  I'm sure you're more familiar with STR regulations than we are as an international community of hosts.

check with your local government or whoever looks after STR regulations in your area . Regulations should be on their website .

You would need to check what happens if you set up a short term let without an appropriate licence if there are restrictions in your area .

In the UK and other countries you could face criminal action and heavy fines

Well i was expecting some locals only to reply , but thanks for being so kind to reply , obviously local laws are clear then too i would definitely be double checking them !

Hi @Mayur44 😊

Did you find this information elsewhere?

I mention some Hosts from India to see if they know how to help you:

@Dr-Jayanthi1@Ankhi2@Sunita35@Sparsh4@Senthil22.

Thank you in advance everyone!

I suggest you also read this article from our resource center: Responsible hosting in India.

Thank you as well, @Joelle43 and @Helen3😍

Hi @Mayur44 . Oh yeah, a heavy, hyped, sensitive, truly tricky question that has “No one size fits all” solution.
First on the regulations (I am a host and not a regulatory expert/ authority) there are several forums to take you through- state department of Tourism, Nidhi- by the centre, Service apartment licensing by the independent states. You can get the right kind of information from a host club of your geography. It is advisable to get registered with one of the above.
Now about “Societies” if the society is registered please go through the “bylaw” framed for the society and take their approval.
Always a great practice to follow norms rather than say sorry after you face any objections. Best wishes.
Thank for bringing me in @Elisa
