Looking for advice about hosting laws in Delhi from other hosts.
A few months ago I listed a room in my apartment (I own and live on this property). I am looking for help from other hosts to know if they applied for any permits to list room in their house for a home stay. Delhi tourism website says it’s not mandatory but looking to check from another host who has listed a room.

Hi @Kriti51,
Hope everything is going well. Thank you for sharing this question in the Community. As you asked, I'm going to mention some host from your area to see if they can give you advice about hosting laws: @Aditya143, @Khagesh2, @Mohit86 and @Paras45.
Also, I'm going to share a link that might be useful in order to understand the laws in your area for hosting: Delhi👈
Thanks in advance to everyone and hope this helps,
Alex

I have informed the local police and the area’s Parshad/Nagar Palika about my listing.
Additionally, the background verification was completed by BNB using the documents I provided. From my understanding, Delhi Tourism mentions that a permit isn't mandatory, but it’s always good to stay updated on any local regulations. If any fellow hosts have firsthand experience with permits or additional requirements, would love to hear your insights!

Thanks for sharing @Paras45. I am going to inform the local authorities and have been maintaining a digital record of everyone who was stayed with us. I did try to download the form to register your home stay from the tourism website but the link seems to be broken.

@Kriti51 I maintain a physical register as well, as it is mandated by the rules, even though I also keep a digital record for convenience. I handle check-in and check-out manually, ensuring all guest details are properly documented. That said, if anyone knows for sure that the physical register is not necessary, I’d be more than happy to update my process—less paperwork for me. Thanks!

Thanks Alex would love to hear from more hosts about permits if they have applied for any and how easy or difficult a process that has been.
