I am managing my brothers airbnb listing right now and we are negotiating cost of doing that. He lives in China so is unable to contact guests in a timely manner and is not around for maintenance etc of the property. What is the standard cost to have someone manage your Airbnb. I do everything from maintenance to staging, cleaning, responding booking keeping calendar etc. When a site says that most management companies get 20-50%, is that 20-50% of just the rental fee or does that 20-50% include the cleaning fee. For example, here is his scenario. For a one night booking he is giving me 10% of the complete booking fee plus since I am cleaning the studio, I get the $60 cleaning fee so he thinks that in the end my total percentage is 33.79% because he is adding in the cleaning fee to my percentage. Does that make sense? I am disagreeing with him cause cleaning should be a separate charge. So basically I get $25 plus $60 to clean for a one night stay. Is this typical. I'm feeling like it's a lot of work and coordinating and time consuming for $25. The cleaning fee is sufficient for me but I just don't think it should be added to the complete percentage I'm getting to do all the other work. The world wide web does not give me specifics on what is included in those percentages. Any guidance here would be very helpful. Thanks!
