Melbourne FL - house on the island

Hello! Looking at houses in Melbourne - many of the houses for sale are already on Airbnb, which makes we wonder if they are not getting good occupancy rates?

looking for any advice from current renters on the Melbourne FL area and success with renting!

Thanks -

@Andrea6281 That’s an interesting deduction, but I wouldn’t rely on it. People buy and sell houses, including short-term rentals, all the time. To verify your suspicious, though, take a look at the Airbnb calendars of the houses for sale. That will give you a good idea of occupancy. Also, the free version of AirDNA will give you a good overview of occupancy levels in Melbourne.

@Andrea6281 Or maybe they are listing on Airbnb while they are trying to sell, since they are not occupying or not using the home for any other purpose. An interesting scenario in Florida, because of the influx of people moving there, many 'locals' are selling their home at a handsome price and already moved to less expensive areas and starting anew.

Hello @Andrea6281 and Welcome to our Community.

As mentioned by @Pat271 , many of our hosts have been sharing that AirDNA can provide a good idea about occupancy levels in various locations.

Have you considered giving it a try?
