Good question :
It is simple, actually. We as hosts are required to conform to local regulations not matter where we are. It is best to do so voluntarily. Airbnb's Terms of Service also make it clear that compliance with laws, rules, regulations that apply to us and our locations is our responsibility. What is negative, is attempting to avoid compliance with the rules and regulations of our location. This is a business, and any listing online is public. There are host compliance programs that easily find hosts who are attempting to avoid becoming legal. It is much easier for us all to get with the program voluntarily. Our government agencies want us to succeed in this business and to be good partners. They also usually have resources available to us that can be very helpful.
Best of a fun and prosperous Spring to you!
