New to Hosting and concerned about personal items

Hi all,

Going to start Airbnb, I have a four-bedroom 4 bath house.  Teenage kids that go back and forth to dad's house.

How do you stow away your clothes and personal items?  We will be living here half the time, how much do you lock up in a closet?

Also, any benefit to only renting one or two bedrooms and not the whole house, or should  always make it a whole house experience?  I am thinking of installing timed locks that have updated passwords?

Any advice is appreciated.

@Jerry475   If you rent the whole house, you will want to put away EVERY personal item.  I would designate a specific room as the storage, and rent the house with this room as a locked (with deadbolt) owner's closet/room that is not to be tampered with.

If you rent just one or two bedrooms, would you be in residence as well?  If so, then limit the access to the kitchen or prepare yourself to have your guests rummage through the drawers, cabinets and pantry looking for cooking tools and/or food.  Is your house set up in such a way that the guest would have access to a common area like a TV or living room to relax in outside of the bedrooms?  Are the baths en suite or shared?  Lots to think about.

Locks that have the ability to have the codes changed or on a timer are a necessity if you are not going to be present to greet guests.   Good luck!
