Payout Blocked due to new Bug in Airbnb System

Payout Blocked due to new Bug in Airbnb System

Airbnb is requesting to update and verify company information for some months. The system maximum size to company name is 100 characters but Brazilian government allow larger names. My company's name has 106 characters.

I have been using the exact same company information since 2019 and it was always OK.

We have been trying to overcome this issue along with Airbnb local support team for some months, and nothing worked.

So they said that it was manually update by their own, and I didn't have to worry about the warning anymore.

However, last week they blocked my Payout and now want me to change the legal name of the company and choose one that is lesser than 100 characters.
There is a cost of 300 USD to do that in Brazil and they not willing to pay it.

They also refuse to make my payouts.

I need urgent assistance on this issue.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello @Bruno141, I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this situation.

Since our community is focused on host-to-host support, there isn’t much we can do here. The best course of action is to stay in touch with the support team.

Because your property is in Brazil, you might also consider posting in the Portuguese Community Center to see if other hosts have faced a similar situation and can share their experiences.

Please keep us updated on how everything goes.

So sorry this happened...

Yes, Airbnb does re-verify business details periodically. I don't think I have ever seen a company name 106 characters long? Is that typical in Brazil?

It does seem like as long as you are able to re-verify your business details and beneficial owners and the name of the business is correct and properly registered, then Airbnb should not be forcing you to change the name of the business so it fits their character limitations for it.

Unfortunately, unless you can get Airbnb to change the character limitation, you will have to pay the money to change the name of the business to 100 characters or less if you want to continue using Airbnb and get paid. I would write off the cost to shorten the name as a business expense (if you can in Brazil - talk to an accountant on that).
