I live in Europe and have a local bank. Here the only two things you need for payment is the IBAN and Swift. Yet these Airbnb ** keep demanding 'a bank code' with 8 characters. Now the only thing that Raiffeisen Bank identifies as its bank code is 4 characters. So what ** is going on? We are constantly having problems because the ** staff is ignorant of how the rest of the world operates. Maybe they should travel more.

Maybe you should learn not to be so rude as someone working in the hospitality industry @Roderick8 

why not ask the thousands of other hosts operating in Hungary how they have managed it rather than blaming others - the Budapest host group would seem like the obvious place to post .

@Roderick8 when we set up our bank account we didn't give IBAN numbers - just bank sort code, account number and name.  With presence in many countries Airbnb will not necessarily use international transfers.
