I have had same person try to book two different dates for their wedding party. About 2 months apart. Both times their licence was expired and it automatically cancelled. I ask her to have someone in the wedding party book for her as it kept cancelling. Someone else joined the conversation saying he was her partner and was uploading her id. Still nothing. 12.30am he tries to book and it auto cancelled again. I messaged wirh a motel to google as i cannot put a contact up. I feel it is a scam. How do people scam us in airbnb?

Hi @Robyn555 👋
Sorry to hear that you think you faced a scam. I wanted to share with you an article from the Resource Center that talks about Avoiding fraud, scams, and abuse.
Hopefully, this helps. How long have you been hosting on Airbnb for?
Just because a document like a Driver's license may be expired it still may be a valid form of ID.
It sounds like ABB systems when scanning it are picking up that it is expired.
There's all manner of Options to verify who a person is and an "Interface" on a computer system doesn't work on it's own.
Try messaging the person to ask for further information about a pending reservation.
That's why open communication in messaging systems is important to clear up any issues an "interface" scanning documents doesn't work on it's on.
thanks @ Helen427 I messaged them many times, offering ideas. I think it was a lucky escape as I heard a motel in the town had wedding guests and they smashed the room up so if it was not as scam I am glad I missed out on them. The reason I also thought a scam was they requested the same booking but a differend date a few months back with the same id issue.
