Looking for a responsible property manager for my home in Central New York. Three day and weekly rentals in the spring and summer. Ideas?
Hey there @Neil715, and a big welcome to the Community Center.
If you're looking for a Co-Host, head to How to find and become an experienced Co-Host on Airbnb?
Hope this helps!
Hey Neil, if you're still looking for a manager I'd love to help! Shoot me a DM to discuss and I can send you my info.
Hi @Neil715
I would not use a property management company as they generally require you to name them as owner on the listing. If you terminate your agreement, then all the reviews go with them. Most also don't seem to do a very good job either.
I would instead look for an experienced Co-Host who can help you. You remain as Owner/Primary Host and invite a Co-Host via email to the listing. Negotiate compensation based on what tasks they will perform. Most will either be local and able to do cleaning, maintenance, etc. or a remote Co-Host (like myself) who can handle all aspects of the listing except cleaning, or on site tasks. You can join one of the New York Host Clubs on Facebook and ask about getting an experienced Co-Host:

Joan,
Thanks so much for responding. I think you are "spot on". I am in the process of firing my property manager and working to get a local person as my "caretaker" - pretty much a co-host as I already have a cleaner and someone to take care of the yard. I started over with a new listing and believe it will go just fine.
I appreciate your offer and will look into the "Local Host Clubs" tomorrow. Thanks again for confirming what I pretty much believed anyway.
Neil B.
