Has anyone had a nosy neighbor call the city on them and get a verbal warning about violating zoning laws?

do neighbours have your phone number so they can alert you to any concerns. ? 

do you have CCTV? 

we don't have zoning laws here in the UK so can't help on this I'm afraid.
