Review encouragement advice

How to encourage the guests to write the review? Coz even I have done writing the personal welcome msg with small snacks and complimentary water during stay. Never get one review after receiving personal msg that they were happy staying...

Are you reviewing all your guests @Natthaphas0

@Natthaphas0  I find that if you review the guest immediately they are more inclined to review you back.  They are curious about what you wrote and the stay is still fresh in their mind.  I beleive Air prompts them as well to review.

I also have a fridge magnet that explains ratings and how important reveiws are.  Some hosts find them tacky but not every guest understands our business and how important reviews are and how reviews work.

Etsy has quite of few and even Amazon.  Just search Airbnb review magnet.

Thanks, I did once and even directly asked the review coz they extended the stay and shared that they liked the place... 😅 No review still.

@Natthaphas0. I make it part of my morning check out message that I'd appreciate a review. Its after all the stuff I say thanking them again for choosing us and wishing them a safe journey. I review all guests and usually respond to their reviews, but then again I am an over communicator and do all mine customised! I know it also helps those guests who lack reviews or are taking their pet for the first time (and I help by asking their pet's name to be included in review where possible).

Reviews work this way with most businesses. Seems to work for me too :).

Thanks for your sharing. Actually I have done all welcome and check out msg as you shared, snacks and water as complimentary too. Asked for a review as mentioned too, never got one response even thought they extended their stay too. Just wondering... Thanks again.

@Natthaphas0. Do other hosts in the same unit complex receive reviews? It may just be that your type of guests dont feel the need (eg independent travellers, short stays,   simple needs). Any repeat guests? How many stays in the past 9 months and therefore missed reviews are we talking about?

Hi @Natthaphas0

I can't speak for other hosts, but I don't ask for reviews and I have many guests who don't review me. I do review my guests right away.

I'm reluctant to push for reviews, because I worry that people may choose to say nothing when they have nothing nice to say! I also fairly frequently have guests who write positive feedback in the message thread after check-out that almost sounds like a review - I'm not sure whether some guests confuse this with an actual review.

So I can't help to solve your problem at all as I have exactly the same issue, but I can confirm that you're not the only host who has non-reviewing guests!

Thanks and appreciate your sharing.
