Rules changes Scotland and public liability insurance

Hi I rent out a room in my house and I have been trying to get quotes for house insurance with public liability insurance via search engines like compare the market etc but the questions they ask don’t relate to me, i.e. how long is your house empty for - it’s never empty, we live here. Have others found this problem too? Any recommendations for insurance companies as the few I have chosen to contact direct said they don’t do home ins with public liability insurance. Thanks in advance for any help.

some good news. Admiral are happy to give house insurance knowing I rent out the room whilst direct line gave me a quote of £97 for public liability. Hope that helps
