Hello - To the STR Airbnb Hosts/Hostesses in the Town of Wilson, NY, please be aware that based on published minutes, certain members of the Town of Wilson Planning Board are focused on eliminating STR's . Their next meeting is on Wednesday, July 12, at the Town Hall, at 7 p.m. It is of opinion that at least one member recently added to the Planning Board should not be on the Board, as he has a history for years of harassing at least one STR Owner and for years he has been vocal that he does not want any STR or Long Term rentals in the Town. According to a STR Owner, it was threatened by someone opposed to STR's that the Planning Board is now being weaponized against STR's; with proposed regulations that would be almost impossible to meet, and as quoted in Town Planning Board Minutes, "should eliminate most of them". Some of the STR Owners have spoken with attorneys regarding this strong attempt by the Town Planning Board to shut down STR's in the Town of Wilson. It is essential that we have strength in our numbers, at that at every Town Planning Board meeting, that we have some STR Airbnb Owners at that meeting, to take notes, to speak up IF allowed to speak, and to report back to other Airbnb STR Owners, on this safe platform (where we can freely discuss as only Airbnb Hosts/Hostesses have access to this page). Please indicate if you will be able to attend the meeting on July 12, and also, please pass this information along to other Airbnb Owners - as we need to collectively discuss on this page strategy and planning to fight back against them closing down our STR's by activating unnecessary regulations and high fees, targeted at eliminating our STR's.
