Hi I’m a Chicago host. I recently received a letter in the mail from the city of Chicago stating that my shared housing permit expired. I asked them how to renew it and they said that it can be renewed inside the Airbnb app. I can’t seem to find it so I contacted Airbnb and on multiple occasions they said that they would get back to me and they have not. I’ve called them over five times and emailed them about the same and still no response. In the meantime the city has told me I’m not allowed to rent my space and so I’m losing hundreds of dollars in rentals I haven’t been able to accommodate. Does anyone know how I can renew this permit? I’m about to delete my listing & restart it, as Airbb originally did automatically file on my behalf and I assume they will again but I hate to “solve” it that way if there’s an actual solution. Thanks!
@Kim2481 The renewal request can be submitted through your listing page under the "Regulations" tab. It will ask you to enter any relevant data. You can also see when your renewal has been approved (or not, if there are any issues).
The Dept of Business Affairs will also send you an email, and a letter by regular mail, indicating if you are approved, or if there are any issues.
Once approved, you will be issued a registration number, which is posted on your listing.
