Hi, I’m a host and an enquiry has just come through from someone who says they would like to book my place but because they have previously been ‘stung’ on another booking, would I verify myself with Superhog.  Has anyone ever heard of this? Is it genuine or some type of a scam? Please advise.

Looking at their privacy statement, they retain your data for 7 years! 

I just stayed somwhere which made it mandatory to use their verification. I'm now getting contstant text scam offering me crypto currency investments and i had a request to 'reconfirm my payment information after I'd already paid. Only afterwards I discovered the guests before me had their payment card hacked and hundreds of pounds taken off it. 

I massively object to giving a private company all my data just so I can stay somewhere. I expect airbnb or booking.com to be doing their job to verify vendors/clients etc!

After using booking.com for hundreds of reservations over the last 10 years, my latest booking with them I've been asked to verify via Superhog - who I have never heard of.

However having seen all the personal information they are asking for, and the total lack of guidance on their website for those booking, there is absolutely no way I am giving them such sensitive details.   I've told the seller this, and if they cancel my booking then that is there loss - plenty of other options around.

I have used them for over a year and they are terrible! I am sure there is a better alternative.

Hi @Sarah5539  What has your experience been like ?    Why terrible?    Has anyone else found a better option for property damage policies for vacation rentals?

Sorry @DiAnn399 , I misspoke regarding my experience with Superhog now rebranded to Truvi Technology Company. I had tried to reach them regarding my concerns around Christmas and got no response. They have since then reached out and apologized for the late response due to people being out of the office during Christmas holidays. I have continued to use them and have no issues so far.
