Of late it is noticed that the taxes to the guests are quite high which burdens the guest and so many a times they avoid reservation through Airbnb thereby seeking for offline booking especially for longer stays which I hope no host might be accommodating such requests. At least I am not. Can some clarity be given in this respect. Thanks

You would need to check with the governmental tax agencies to see if a long term stay would be exempt from short term rental taxes. In many places they are if the stay is 30+ days. Some require 60-90+ stays.
In any case, the taxes would still be due for a short term stay (if applicable) whether the guest books on Airbnb or privately off-platform. Airbnb collects and pays taxes (in many cases - but not all). If a guest books off platform, the Host is responsible for collecting and paying the taxes.

Hi @Anoop16 😊,
Thank you for asking this here!
Have you been able to connect with local hosts to try to understand this?
I’m tagging a few here in case they know anything: @Anoop16, @Rahul271, @Sanjay72 and @Rizwan32.
Thank you in advance, everyone!
