There should be a class action lawsuit on AIR COVER

If you research air cover you’ll read hundreds of host stories just like mine.

people agree to open up their homes to strangers under the marketing ploy that is 1 million dollars of air coverage for potential damages only to be completely ignored and unsupported for months when they actually need that coverage. It’s a gimmick and a scam and legal recourse is in order!

I have had an almost identical situation but it’s now been MONTHS that the air coverage revolutions team has had my case and co to use to do nothing to support me in a resolution. It’s been 3 months and they continue to say “they’re still reviewing my case” yet they imposed a very tight deadline for me to provide all of the following proof for the damage:

- before/after photos

- original receipts

-replacement receipts

- professional incident reports

- professional repair reports (some items they asked for THREE different professional quotes)

- age of item

after complying with all requests they’ve offered zero progress or resolution or reimbursement for thousands of dollars worth of damage that my very first Airbnb guest did to my home and my property. It’s crippling to hosts who trust this system to protect them when things go wrong because ever since the new air coverage platform was launched- it’s evident they were trained to evade hosts and not provide legitimate payouts for incidentals.

I'm sure Airbnb has largely covered themselves legally with respect to "Aircover" in the fine print, so it would be wise to pay a legal expert to analyze the chances of a lawsuit ever going to court.

Nonetheless, perhaps a regulatory authority might have a few questions about the promise vs. reality? False advertising? I think there may be a pretty good case for deceptive advertising (?)

I agree with the deceptive advertising. Aircover's instructions is to make a claim within 14 days after guest checkout. Upon doing that, they denied my claim, saying that damage occurred over 30 days. Had they clearly stated their limitations in their instructions, I wouldn't have been misled to wait until the guest checks out.

Airbnb is a scam. They will not support you when you need them. Anyone reading this, if you consider short term renting just don't. I'm a super host of 8+years and with the way the Airbnb changed after going public is a Trainwreck waiting to happen. Looking at other platforms with the spirit of what Airbnb used to be or just going to quit as the status quo is just complete BS and Chesky is a corporate sell out

Have you explored arbitration? Technically as a host you can't sue them. But it's very expensive for Airbnb to resolve each and every arbitration case so they might settle. Here is a very good link from Airbnb Automated on how to get your damages covered and other issues resolved through arbitration. Good luck!

I hope more people take this route and Airbnb realizes they can't screw people over.
