Those of you who are apartment-renters and host on Airbnb: how do you split the profits w/your landlord?

Thinking of suggesting a 60/40 tenant/landlord split, plus tenant keeps cleaning fees since I'm doing the cleaning. What do you guys do?

Thanks!

@Alaska6

Useally you need permission of the landlord to sublet or to host paying guests  (Airbnb)

Also be aware most landlords do not want to accept risks related to hosting guests.

Also consider how taxes, local laws, insurrance are involved.

If there are no extra costs for the landlord (higher energybills, taxes etc...) and you have permission, then 40% of earnings going to the landlord seems very high to me (?)

@Alaska6 If you are renting the place and then listing it on Airbnb then you are taking all the risk (including damage) and so 40% to the landlord seems excessive. If you are effectively just hosting the place behalf of the owner and their only revenue is the 40% then it seems too little.
