Help on how to be on the front line in attracting clients
Help on how to be on the front line in attracting clients
Hi - I have been sent an outrageously high renewal quote by Aviva. I am just wondering who other UK (ideally London) based hosts who are hosting a room in their house use for house - buildings and contents - insurance as so many of the major insurers won't insure airbnb hosts in the UK hosting in their own homes. Many thanks Rebecca
@Becks5 Have you tried JL Morris insurance brokers? We used them happily for years and whilst they are expensive the cover is there. I suspect your high prices are more indicative of what insurers are charging these days.
Hi @Becks5 😊,
Welcome to the community, and thank you for asking this question here!
Have you found a solution? Our Host shared great advice with you.
Did you get a chance to review it?
It would also be a good idea to ask for recommendations from local Hosts near you through
I’ve also mentioned hosts from London, as they may better know how to help you: @Livia120 , @Amelia468 , @Ava-And-Team0 and @Bartłomiej9.
Warm regards 🌻

Hi @Becks5 ,
I have spoken with some friends and there is an insurance company : Pikl.com who offer specialist insurance for hosts (so worth getting a quote and checking their full details) and perhaps ask Aviva if you can increase your excess, and activate a no claims bonus and see if that lower your premiums. also sometimes, can be a good to explain the renewal quote is comparatively high as often there’s some flex from the insurance companies. Good luck!

Commercial insurance is always higher than domestic insurance because there is a higher risk .
But you can claim the costs as an expense against your taxes if you're not using the rent a room scheme
