US: NH - Governor's order to have all guests sign a document that they have been in quarantine prior to visiting NH

Hi everyone,

the governor of NH issued the following:

"Guest check in may commence on Friday, June 5th, 2020. Operators should require a copy of a NH driver’s license or a signed document from the guest(s) attesting that all the person(s) staying at the lodging facility remained at a home for at least 14 days before arriving in New Hampshire, only going out for essential items and when outside of the home maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks when within less than 6 feet of another person during this 14 day “quarantine”. Out-of-state guests should be made aware at the time of the reservation of the need for this requirement and signature."

How do you follow through with his ask of having a signed document when I am not physically on the property?  I don't think AirBnB supports any of this.

Thanks

Julia

Sounds like a liability disclaimer and really nothing more. We do these all the time when anyone going on a sea tour, by way of example. Perhaps your governor is trying to open up STR renting and coming up with something to make it happen and appease the lawsuit nervous nellies in his government.

As to you being an absentee owner that is not physically in your place/area that is indeed another hurdle,  for you. Be interesting to know what is Airbnb's reaction to this requirement, if they object the guests will stay at a no-hassle hotel and everyone looses out, except the hotel.

Question - is this requirement also being asked of hotels in New Hampshire?

@Julia2739  Why can't you email the document to guests, have them sign it electronically and then send it back to you?
