Vancouver new legislation

Hello fellow hosts,

I am well aware that a recent regulation has been made here in Vancouver for Airbnb hosts that is coming into effect on May 01 and am wondering how best we it can be navigated.

Does the regulation apply to you of your minimum stay requirement is longer than 30 days ? Do you now need a business license to operate short-term rentals

I think it's 90+ days where the regulation won't apply, and it's my understanding that you do now need a business license for short-term rentals.

I wonder, can anyone confirm that the new regulations do not apply to 90+ day minimum stays?

Yeah in this thread, lots of people mention that short-term has been changed from less than 30 days to less than 90 days.

So if we just post a minimum 90 day stay, we should be fine?

The new regulation is minimum 90 days. No registration required as it's the new long term stay stipulation.

Good luck being found! Search won't get you anywhere on the list!  I tried for 3 hours. It knocked me off the area I selected on the filter.  Skytrain, transit is not a search option.

No matter how good your location is, if the long term stay picked, chances are you will have to be well below market price or be super duper extraordinary host offering double the value for the money.  It looks like to me the powers that be are trying to force the unthinkable.

I tried sharing the space with locals.......  OMG!! Every single time it was a horror story.  I could write a book.  I believe the grace period is coming to an end. If a listing does not have a registration number, it will never be seen by potential guests.
