My husband and I have 5 Airbnb's that we own. We are also in real estate and have several clients who want to have us host their properties. I want to keep our properties separate from our own. Do I need to open a separate account as a manager for people's properties if it doesn't go well?

Hi Rhonda,

It’s great that you’re expanding your hosting business! While it’s not required to open a separate account, many hosts who manage properties for others choose to do so for better organization and risk management.

Having a separate account for client properties can help:

✔ Keep finances and reviews separate from your personal properties.
✔ Maintain a distinct hosting identity in case a client relationship doesn’t work out.
✔ Avoid any potential liability or policy issues affecting your personal listings.

If you decide to use one account, you can still clearly differentiate your listings by labeling them appropriately and communicating transparently with guests. However, if you plan to scale and take on multiple client properties, a separate account might be a safer long-term strategy.

Best of luck with your growing business!

You are not allowed to have more than one profile on Airbnb.

what you can do as a cohost is help the owner set up their listing under their profile and add you as a cohost .

have a look on Airbnb help website under cohosting to help you understand how it works @Rhonda60

Thanks for the clarification! You're absolutely right—Airbnb doesn’t allow multiple personal profiles, but co-hosting is a great way to manage multiple properties while keeping things organized. Setting up the listing under the owner’s profile and being added as a co-host can be a smart approach, especially for those managing properties for others.

However, if you’re looking to manage properties under a business name, you can also create a business account. Here’s a helpful link to guide you through the process: How to join Airbnb as a business.

@Rhonda60, definitely check out Airbnb’s co-hosting and business account resources to see what works best for your situation!
