question about Partnership with another host

Dear Airbnb community,

I have a 7 years old Airbnb listing, and I'm a super host since 5 years.
Lately I got introduced to a lady who lives in another city, and who would like to work with me, to build an Airbnb listing for a fully furnished room in her home, that's not in use, knowing she's not familiar with Airbnb, and not so good in English aswell!

I've suggested to add her room to my listings & to add her as a co-host in my account to build up on my account, since I'm a super host, and experienced in Airbnb, which is a big advantage! But she would like to start from scratch a new account with both of us.

My questions are:
1) is it possible to start an Airbnb account with two account holders? And if yes, how would be the connection with bank accounts, account holder names.. etc. And if not what would be the other options to start an account with both of us?

2) Is it possible to start an account and to add my & her existing accounts as co-hosts to this new account to be able to benefit from my super host status?

3) what would be the fair share for both of us, since she would provide the room & all the cleaning, check in & out services, and I would provide my experience in Airbnb, and dealing with all the platform demands: starting from arranging the place to be suitable for guests (I'm an interior designer), to take good quality photos, write all the needed details for the listing, and do all the platform communications with guests & support if needed.

Your insights are highly appreciated!

Thank you so much in advance 🙏

4) and in case of separation in the future, what would be the best procedure for both of us?

The best way to do this is to help her set the listing up under her profile and add yourself as the cohost @Amani50

It's up to you to agree a fair rate for a one off cost to set up a listing  plus an ongoing fee for your management service.

in this way she will automatically get paid the majority of the fee and you will automatically get paid your cohost fee .

Thanks, @Amani50 , for asking such a great question—I'm sure it will help clear up doubts many people have about co-hosting. And thank you, @Helen3 , for your helpful response—co-hosting definitely seems like a great option.

I had a quick follow-up question for you: when you mention "you will automatically get paid your co-host fee," does that mean Airbnb sends your share directly through the platform, or is the payment handled outside of Airbnb?

Also, if it's through Airbnb, how did you decide on the percentage or amount for your co-host fee from the total booking payment?

I would suggest you also look at the Airbnb Guide to cohosting @Ranveer1 on the Airbnb Help website for more information on how cohosting works

1. Yes. Once the payment is set up on the listing

2. as I said in my earlier post it's up to you to decide what percentage you want to charge for your cohosting services

Thank you Helen3 for your reply! What would in your opinion be a fair rate for setting up her profile, and for the ongoing fee for managing it?

I have no idea how to estimate that!

I can't tell you how to estimate your rates @Amani50

. I don't know what work will be involved in setting up the listing .

for example - are you doing photography? Helping furnish it ? Copywriting the listing ?

estimate how long it will take you to do all the tasks involved.

Decide on what a good rate will be . Multiply the hourly rates x your hourly cost .

To be honest I would prefer to start something new for both of us on 50-50% basis for each of us. Me with the management, and she with the property.

Working on a listing is a continuous work, can't actually be astimated, especially that I'll be doing all the important work: from arranging the place to be suitable & comfortable for hosting, taking nice photos to stand out, making a compelling description & filling in all the details & amenities.. etc.

keeping everything updated beside all the communication with guests & support if needed is a lot of work!

Thank you anyway @Helen3 for all your help, I do really appreciate it!

Okay that sounds like a very high cut that you would be taking for property management- but if your client has agreed it then it's a business model that works for you.

your client has all the costs on her side so it's a great deal for you.

In my opinion I would not share an Airbnb account with someone else unless the person was a trusted family member.

I think you might be a little confused - this is nothing to do with sharing accounts . The host and cohost both have their own profiles . They don't share accounts @Andrea8411

I wounder if there's a possibility to make a new profile for both of us and to add both of us as co-hosts? Honestly I would prefer to build the new listing on neutral grounds, since we might agree on just a percentage.. In this case, if things don't get well we just close it without harm for any of us..

No it's against Airbnb T&C to have more than one profile @Amani50

and what do you mean by 'adding us both as cohosts' - you and who else .

it's really simple as I've already mentioned above help the owner set up the listing under their profile and then you can help them add you as the cohost.
