What are the rules and regulations of hosting in India as I am thinking about hosting guests in my Kolkata house?
Hi @Ranu23,
Welcome to the community! It's very exciting to read you're considering becoming a host. 🤗
There is a lot of information on the following page that you might find useful: Responsible hosting in India
In addition, perhaps some of our hosts in India will have some advice for you: @Amrita8 @Dr-Jayanthi1 @Akaash4 @Abhinav47 @Anoop16, @Kalpana18, do you have any recommendations for Ranu?
Thank you everyone 🙂

Hi Ranu,
If you are interested in hosting on Airbnb platform you have chosen the right one you will never regret.Airbnb filters all your guests & payouts are prompt.
Never get tempted by guests who want direct booking. You will put yourself & the guests at great risk with loosing aircover for both & also in many other aspects.
Always communicate with warm messages your tone and words which you choose must be polite & welcoming.
Some times you do get abrupt& queries which are Rude & uncomfortable develop patience. Must remember this is hospitality platform so we can't be intolerant. Most guests are very nice & generally understanding.
If you get one or two negative reviews don't let it bother you instead think how to improve your listing, learn how to handle your guests just try to go that extra mile for them.
Hope you will get to host many guests all the very best.
