review decision error

review decision error

I am an owner with ABNB for 5 years with my current property and 17 years with 2 other properties.  At my current property my  vacation home has a 9.5 rating.  4 weeks ago a had a man arrive , who was scheduled to rent for 2 days. He walked in the house and came out in two minutes and said that it was overpriced and that he saw a much lower price place downtown. He drove away.   He then wrote a terrible review, a rating of 1/10, about my place which was totally inaccurate. He obviously did that so that he would have a reason not to pay me or pay ABNB for his  reservation.  My big complaint is that ABNB has put this review on my website and it is ruining my business, also I published a response to the mans review - in my Protest with ABNB, and ABNB did not publish my response to the man's terrible review.   The person who checked out on the day that the man came by , gave my home a review of 8/10 and there have been 2 rental groups after the man's review and they each have been 10/10.  These facts provide powerful evidence that the man's review was inaccurate and manipulative.   I have received no new reservations ever since the inaccurate review was published. I have asked ABNB to publish my response to that man's review and to take the review off my website- they have refused.  The man never even stayed at my property and yet ABNB is letting his terribly inaccurate review, by David in August- destroy my vacation rental business. Is this an Airbnb review you refer to or perhaps another site @Newer-Vacation-Home0 ?

I ask because Airbnb's star ratings are out of 5, not 10, so perhaps it wasn't an Airbnb booking?

It was an ABNB booking because I have been protesting their ignorant handling of this case.  I may have confused my numbers but the facts are I have gotten totally screwed by a con man and ABNB is too stupid to realize this and correct the situation.

I'm rather confused by your post @Newer-Vacation-Home0

You mention having three listing but I can only see one in your profile.

you mention one guest giving you a bad review is ruining your business but your listing has a 4.57 rating with a number of guests marking you down for cleanliness, accuracy etc

you mention having a 9.5 rating but Airbnb reviews are marked out of five so that would have been impossible for the guest to give you a 1/10 rating on Airbnb

you can of course always respond to a guest review if you like and have several weeks to do so .

one bad review will not destroy an STR business .

a guest and host is allowed to leave a review if a booking is cancelled on the day of arrival.

the guest in question said you voluntarily refunded him .and cited mouse droppings and the smell of cat urine as reasons for cancelling .

why would you refund a guest in full  if there were no issues with the property? And why would you leave the guest a very positive review if he behaved as you claimed?
