What is Airbnb doing about listing operating without a city issued permit? My city currently has 20 properties listed on the site. Per City Hal, only SIX have permits.
This is so common! One would think that the folks at City Hall would want that TOT revenue, right? There's a program called "host compliance" that most cities and counties have. It searches the web, to find out what is listed and if they are locally permitted or not becomes clear. They can then go after each property to get them legal. You might check with our local city hall to see that they are using it. The TOT revenue here in our area is substantial and the program more than pays for itself.
