A door damaged by a guest who said it wouldnt open - what to do ??

I have a new house and have never had any problems with the doors - my guests claimed that one of the bathroom doors was stuck so they couldnt open it - I offered assistance but the guest said her husband was a contracter and that he would try to fix it - he did but damaged the door so it will need to be repainted 

any advice on how to deal with ths ??

It's a difficult one - you did let him attempt to repair the door - and perhaps another contractor would have done the job just the same and it would need a re-paint.

You should really have insisted that they don;t try to open it and you should have looked after it for them. 

I doubt very much that you will be successful in any claiim with AirBnB against your security deposit. What about cover under your home insurance? Do you have accidental cover for example?
