A guest asked me to wait before accepting; in that time the request expired.

Now I'm trying to approve her for that date. I'm new and didn't understand what to do in this circumstance. The documentation says I can send a special offer, but I'm being prevented from doing so, because the date is blocked. Help! I'm in a catch-22.

Maybe I should have declined, and then let the guest request again. Is that what I should have done?

@John177 If the guest sent you a reservation request you would have to accept or decline within 24 hours.  When a guest asks you to wait, you should tell them to cancel their request until such time as they are ready to go through with the reservation.  Or, you could decline the reservation and tell the quest they can resubmit a request at a later date.  To let a request expire after 24 hours will block the dates.  If this happened, contact Airbnb to explain the situation and have them unblock.

Special Offers and Pre-Approvals can only be sent as a response to a reservation inquiry.  That's why you didn't see those options. 🙂
