I had a booking that is due to check in today. When I called to find out what time she would arrive, she told me that it would not be her arriving, but her Dad. When I asked his name she told me she had to go. I'm not feeling comfortable with this reservation now, and I know if I cancel it will reflect poorly on my hosting status and it's unlikely I will get another booking for this week. Please let me know what you recommend.
If you want to cancel, you would need to contact airbnb, explain the situation and have them cancel for you. Booking for someone else is against airbnb rules.
Instead of calling, send a message via airbnb and ask for the details of the person coming (I do this all time because I need the full name, address and DOB of every person to register as guests at the authorities).
If you then still feel uncomfortable or dont get a reasonable answer in time, you can call airbnb to cancel because the person is booking on behalf of someone else. You then also have proof for it.
