If the guest books a reservation and decides to cancel the reservation during their stay, the guest must use the online alteration tool in order to agree to a new checkout date. Regardless of the checkout date chosen, the guest is required to pay the host for the30 days following the cancellation date, or up to the end date of the guest’s original reservation if the remaining portion of the original reservation is less than 30 days.
@Christopher-Marcus0 The guest needs to cancel to unblock the dates. If they send an alteration to change the check-out date and you agree they will be refunded the days not spent, and the dates will also be unblocked. Do NOT cancel it yourself you will be penalzed and the dates will be blocked. Do not click 'yes' if you receive a message from Airbnb asking you if you agree to cancelling, it is interpeted as you cancelling. As regards refund, if applicable, never refund in cash or personal check only refund via Airbnb site.
