@Dale6 I would not do it.

I agree - there should be no reason any potential guest would need to know the exact street number - it could be a neighbour or competitor being nosey!

No, don't do it.  Some people want to do a 'drive by' and can disturb current guests.  It's never recommended to post your address on any listing site, it just makes your property too vulnerable.  People can look at your calendar and know if there is a renter there or not.  If you don't live on site it just isn't a good idea.  If you live there, then it might not be a problem, depending on how safe you feel.

Nope. Never. Too risky. Security risk for your property.

@Dale6 I agree with the previous comments. There's no legitimate (or, at least, "important") reason why a real guest would need to know the exact address in advance. A 4-block radius (or 3, or 5, you get my drift) is sufficient for a potential guest to know if they're near some important-to-them venue, or within walking distance of whatever interests them.

The downsides of revealing your exact location are too many. Don't do it.

When people want to know the exact address, I often ask if they are trying to figure out how far we are to a certain location.  This is usually the case  (are you 6 blocks from the trainstation or 10?  Can I walk to interview location?)  If they are cagy about giving you the "why they want to know", I'd decline them immediately - that's a big red flag.  Maybe you already know, but there is a map on your listing giving them the 3-4 blocks in which your home is listed and you can always point that out if you don't want to ask.

When asked for a specific location or address I give the nearest street corner, as in "our home is near the corner of Diamond and Douglas streets". That seems to suffice

Airbnb provides people with a close approximation.  Unless you live in an area where the neighborhood can change drastically from block to block there is no reason for people to know exactly.

I've also had people who try to scam with "family visiting from out of town and I want to make sure it's suitable for them to stay".
well, I have over 100 reviews which you're welcome to read to get a sense of how suitable the place is.

I've also suggested someone book the room for a night and then they can come stay.. if they end up booking for 20+ days for their family, I'll give them a discount in the amount of the first night.

so far no one's taken me up on it--because they're all up to no good.

Several wanted to come and pay cash... definitely a "NO, thank you!"

I live near a large park so I tell people they can use that as a location point in google maps to figure out whatever they need to know about transit and travel times to various destinations.
