How can I complain to Airbnb or make the community aware of a host who declines a booking due to the apartment being unavailable and yet it still shows available on subsequent searches.

To make the community aware of this particular listing, you can provide the link.
To complain to AirBnB, simply give them a ring or email them (contact details all over this platform or in your previous confirmations).
While it's odd for a place to show as available after you were declined precisely due to unavailability, it could also be legitimate e.g. host knows dates are unavailable but forgot to actually block them on the calendar.
I presume you've messaged the host to ask what gives?

Find a better host ! Perhaps filter your search to find the Superhosts.
Unfortunately there are less professional hosts that fail to keep their calendars up to date.

Cool - glad things are working in your direction. Out of curiosity - why do you have two different accounts popping up ? That would be a blood red flag to me !!

all sorted with the better option now.
As for 2 accounts, I've had a problem with the first email, so tried with another email. I'll have to delete it now the original problem has been resolved.
